About Emily

My experience in helping individuals navigate life-changing injuries, illnesses, and transitions has shaped my belief in the power of holistic healing—through both words and movement.
In addition to my therapy work, I’m also a swim instructor and lifelong swimmer. The water has always been a source of grounding for me, offering a unique space for mindfulness, reflection, and movement. As a long-distance open water swimmer, I’ve experienced firsthand the peace that comes from connecting breath to movement, and I encourage my clients to explore their own methods of self-connection and healing—whether through water, nature, or other practices that resonate with them.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered. I work with individuals who are feeling overwhelmed by a new diagnosis or life transition, supporting them at their own pace as they find meaning and understanding in their journey. Whether you’re adjusting to a new reality, managing a chronic illness, or navigating emotional challenges, I provide a safe space where you can explore your emotions and experiences without the pressure to rush the process.
I believe healing is a unique journey for each person, and my goal is to help you reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.

My style...
is supportive and collaborative. I value authenticity and humor in the therapeutic process and strive to create a space where you or your child feel seen, heard, and understood.
I use...
a blend of therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual. My foundation includes traditional talk therapy, often integrating tools to help clients identify emotions and build skills like mindfulness and self-compassion for navigating distress. I incorporate a focus on meaning-making and helping people identify their personal values, even in the face of difficult emotions and experiences.

I often use parts work or other approaches that encourage us to honor our experiences, feelings and emotions by tuning in to listen. This can help people better understand themselves by recognizing and integrating different aspects of their identity and inner experiences.

Beyond traditional talk therapy, I bring in somatic components, play therapy, movement, creative expression, and activity, drawing from my background in Recreational Therapy. I believe exploration, play, and physical movement can enhance self-awareness, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. Whether through breathwork, sensory-based practices, or interactive experiences, I tailor techniques to each person’s unique needs, making therapy an engaging and dynamic process.
